What is a mission simulation?

An mission simulation in space exploration is a research activity that uses Earth-based environments or simulations to mimic conditions on other planets. It helps test technologies, operations, and human factors before real missions. These studies reduce risk and cost by providing realistic “dress rehearsals” for space exploration.
